How would you prioritize the reintroduction of the American Bison?
How would I prioritize the reintroduction of the American bison? I think this question, though interesting to speculate about within a class, is directed to the wrong person. Any ecological changes to the American landscape must be holistic, also considering the health of water systems, and the agency of indigenous peoples who are very much impacted by the loss of bison in America. It appears there is a strong movement within indigenous communities to restore American bison to the rightful place in the ecosystem, and as non-indigenous people who stand in solidarity with tribes in America--we should support them as much as we can, and also see to it that other environmental measures are made to support their autonomy and right to live.
